چکیده
We present the result of projected cross correlation analysis of AGNs and galaxies at redshifts from 0.3 to 3.0. We used the Japanese Virtual Observatory (JVO) to obtain the Subaru Suprime-Cam images and UKIDSS catalog data around known AGNs. We investigated ∼1,000 AGNs, which is about ten times larger samples than previous studies covering the redshifts larger than 0.6. We found significant excess of galaxies around the AGNs at redshifts of 0.3 to 1.8. For the lowest redshift sample (z < 0.8), we obtained correlation length of r0 ∼5 Mpc, which indicates that the AGN at these redshifts resides in a similar environment to typical local galaxies. We also obtained redshift dependence of r0 in each luminosity group, which show the AGN produced at higher redshift resides in a denser environment than the lower redshift AGN does. For AGNs at the highest redshift sample (z > 1.8), we could not obtain a significant clustering signature and put an upper limit of r0 < 17 Mpc (90% C.L.). These results are compatible with the major merger scenario which incorporates the downsizing of mass assembly.

0 B 3 0003 + 387 : AGN Marked Large - Scale Structure at Redshift
We present evidence for a significant overdensity of red galaxies, as much as a factor of 14 over comparable field samples, in the field of the z = 1.47 radio galaxy B3 0003+387. The colors and luminosities of the brightest red galaxies are consistent with their being at z > 0.8. The radio galaxy and one of the red galaxies are separated by 5 and show some evidence of a possible interaction. Ho...
متن کاملOn the Nature of the Z = 0 X-ray Absorbers: Ii. the Contrast between Local and Agn Host Galaxy Absorption
We search for highly–ionized gas near three AGN host galaxies using the Chandra low–energy transmission grating spectrograph. Strong absorption lines from such gas are seen at z = 0, most likely from one or more of the following components: (1) a Galactic corona, (2) the Local Group medium, and (3) an extended warm–hot intergalactic medium (WHIM) filament passing through our local overdensity. ...
متن کاملClustering of galaxies around radio quasars at 0.5z0.8
We have observed the galaxy environments around a sample of 21 radio-loud, steepspectrum quasars at 0:5 # z # 0:82; spanning several orders of magnitude in radio luminosity. The observations also include background control fields used to obtain the excess number of galaxies in each quasar field. The galaxy excess was quantified using the spatial galaxy±quasar correlation amplitude, Bgq, and an ...
متن کاملThe Infrared Counterparts of the Optically Unidentified CDF-S 1Ms Sources
The Chandra Deep Field South (CDF-S) 1Ms exposure produced a catalog of 346 X-ray sources, of which 59 were not visible on the VLT/FORS1 and the ESOMPI/WFI deep R-band images to a limit of Rvega=26.1–26.7 mag. Using the first release of the ESO VLT/ISAAC JHKs data on the CDF-S, we identified six of the twelve such objects that were within the coverage of these IR observations. The VLT/FORS1 I-b...
متن کاملThe Co-formation of Spheroids and Quasars Traced in Their Clustering
We compare the observed clustering of quasars and galaxies as a function of redshift, mass, luminosity, and color/morphology, to constrain models of quasar fueling and the co-evolution of spheroids and supermassive black holes (BHs). High redshift (z . 3) quasars are shown to be drawn from the progenitors of local z = 0 early-type galaxies, with the characteristic quasar luminosity L∗ at a give...
